A step-by-step guide to P3pper

19. Adding multiple items

You’ve already added multiple deliverables to your project. How did you do that?

If you want to create one item at a time, click on it to open its page, change its properties, and then use the breadcrumb to go back to its parent, and repeat the same process for the next item, there will be a lot of back and forth – there may be a simpler way, depending on how you interact with your browser.

Let’s say you want to add these deliverables:

You can click on the Add Deliverable button 4 time, to create 4 deliverables with default values. Then hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click on each of those 4, to open them in new tabs in your browser. Now you can go to each tab, make changes, and close the tab when you’re done. When you make the changes and close those 4 tabs, you will return to the original tab: reload the page by pressing Ctrl+R or clicking on the browser’s reload icon. Now you can see the new values.

Unlike some web applications, it’s completely safe to have P3pper open in multiple tabs. So, experiment to see how you can use it to your advantage. Just remember that P3pper pages don’t reload automatically, and therefore, if you return to an existing page when its values may have changed in a different browser tab, remember to reload the page to see the latest values.
